Description
This is a FABULOUS 5- compartment D'Orsay perfume bottle which I strongly believe was made by LALIQUE in the 1930's (although I couldn't find a signature). On the front "face" of the bottle is a beautifully scripted name of D'ORSAY, in all its Art Nouveau glory with flowing lines made from stylised botanical forms. These sinuous forms extend all the way around the bottle, as well as on the top. Each of the five compartments is capped by a stopper in the form of a flower - each is numbered, although there is two of No. 4. The bottle is in excellent condition, although on the top left corner as well as the top right corner there is an indentation the size of a match-head, which I am unable to determine whether they are small chips, or part of the organic design, as they seem symmetrical. The bottle comes in its original box (which has a fold down front), and is lined in gold colored fabric. It is embossed in gold lettering " LA RENOMMEE D'ORSAY... ses 5 parfums les reputes ".The box is a tan color and seems to be covered in suede? A rare collactible with all its parts present. Postage to France is $AUD60 and will have heaps of packing around it.I suggest you insure it as I will not accept any liability for breakages or missing packages once I deliver it to the Post Office. E-mail me for costs to other destinations. On 25-Jul-08 at 14:07:55 AEST, seller added the following information:I have been asked to provide pictures of the 2 indents on the front of the bottle, which I have supplied. Also, on closer examination I discovered a fine sliver on the front centre, which I have also documented. Questions about the condition of the stoppers showed several fleabites that didn"t show up in the photos. Don"t hesitate to ask any further questions.
