Description
Offered from the estate of an advanced perfume collector is a very rare bottle and box produced by Caron and titled Or et Noir. First produced in 1944, Or et Noir features a Baccarat Bottle encased in a gold-colored metal. The stopper is embossed with two Napoleonic bees. The bottle still has its original wire closure on it and I believe it may never have been opened. I can hear liquid inside the bottle. The perfume and case are in good condition with no damage. The fabric colors are strong and clean. The bottom half of the exterior of the box appears lighter than it actually is due to a trick of the light when I took the picture. It is in fact gold and not faded. This type of perfume is pictured in the book, Perfume Presentation, by Ken Leach, where he lists it a very scarce. Please feel free to ask any questions about this piece. I will be listing other rare perfumes from this estate. Winning bidder to pay shipping and insurance. Paypal preferred, and is the only form of payment accepted for international transactions. In the US, money orders and personal checks accepted. Allow eight business days for personal checks to clear. Some of you very knowledgable collectors are asking some questions about condition that has prompted me to post some more pictures, which I have done. There was a question as to whether the finish is cloudy in spots. The answer is, the front is shinier and more reflective than the back and sides. As you can see in the closer shots of the front and back. The whole front is reflective, a trick of lighting only shows the top half as reflective, but the bottom half is too. Also on the sides you can see some darkness to the finish, I'm assuming these are due to the skin oil from handling. I don't know if these can be polished or not. I will let the new owner do that. Because of these concerns, I will just say the bottle and box are in good condition. My thanks to all of you who are asking these questions. If you have any more I will answer them as best I can
