Vietzen Estate in 1998. Col. Raymond C. Vietzen had several Custer Items in his possession. He collected the Hawk in the 1960's, although it was originally purchased at an estate sale in San Fransisco in 1907, from the Estate of Thomas Rush, Sgt D. Company, 7th cav. who died in 1905. He enlisted in 1871 but his connection to Rushing Bull is not known except they both served in the 7th cav during the Little Big Horn Battle. Rushing Bull was in the Reno column but never crossed the river in the battle, he was an Indian Scout.
