Description
Antique Oak Box Telephone - Vintage 1915 Please review the pictures - Lots of details This Antique Telephone is complete and in working condition. It was tested for a dial tone and we were able to pick up and talk on incoming calls. You cannot call out on it. The tone is very tinny as were all these old units. The tags and labels inside the unit read: Wesco Supply Company, St Louis - Swedish Telephone Company, Chicago - It was inspected in May of 1915 - SN is # 23302. This unit is in near Mint Condition. If you will look at the 6th picture, you will see where the note taking lip has been repaired. All in all, this is an outstanding, well kept, and preserved unit. It's definately a collectors item and qualifies as a museum peice. ***** This unit has been in our family for over 90 years. We are offering it for sale at the starting bid of $999.00 ( no reserve ) as the start of an attempt to raise $45,000 for our 36 years old diabetic son Scott who has recently been diagnosed with ALS ( Lou Gehrig's disease ). This sale is just one peice of the families attempt to raise this sum. Family members, friends, and relatives are joining in along with applications to various foundations to accomplish this. It has taken a year to diagnose Scott's ALS. His right arm is 90% paralyzed, his left arm and right leg are 10% paralyzed, and indications are it is also spreading to his left leg and spine. ALS is terminal, it will leave him completely paralyzed. His acute juvenal diabetic condition greatly complicates his situation. ( He was diagnosed a diabetic at 10 years old). He is 6 foot 3 and is down to 172 pounds. Needless to say, this last year has greatly strained his and his immediate family's financial condition. Scott has already lost his primary employment and is now trying to work as long as he can at $10.00 per hour with a hotel. ( Maybe to this coming November ). He wants to live at his apartment as long as possible. ( Maybe this coming January ). Funds collected from this sale and other efforts will go twords paying for his Cobra Insurance, apartment rent and utilities ( hopefully till this January ), car and gas payments ( hopefully till this January - then it will be liquidated ), food, basics, medical ( that isn't covered by his plan ), and to fulfill his last request to visit Cape Cod one last time. ( We would like to help him do this before he loses all movement ). He is being accepted at the KU Med Center in Kansas City. He will within five months be eligible for assistance from the university, and government programs such as Medicare. But, he will receive no assistance concerning his current financial situation and dept. If this antique phone sells - The winner will ( at his or hers request ) receive receipts showing how the money was spent. We will also include a thank you letter from Scott and his family and Scott's picture. Please Note: This is not a scam. It's an attempt or plea from a heartbroken financially stressed family trying to provide as best a quality life for their son in the time he has left. ***** If you know someone who has the financial resources to make a bid, please forward this sale information to them. ***** If you have questions, please ask them. We will post your questions for all concerned to read. If this sale qualifies as a charitable donation, we will provide that information to the winner. We are offering Free Shipping and Insurance within the United States. Either UPS Ground or U.S. Parcel Post with Delivery Confirmation. Thanks for Looking - Thanks for your Concern - and Thanks for your Prayers - God Bless You <><
