ADDRESSED TO VICE PRESIDENT JOHN ADAMS! Written in EARLY 1790's.  This is probably one of the rarest and most incredible historic items I have ever seen. It is a beautiful Free Frank type envelope addressed to the Vice President of the United States at Braintree near Boston. There is no date on it except a circle postal stamp with 31 AV. Size approx 3x5. Possibly a unique item! Someone made a tiny notation on the upper left that says 1795. It is most likely to have been written between 1790-1793 while Jefferson was Sec of State for George Washington and able to use the Free Frank priviledge. The brown ink is very bold and paper exceptionally fine condition. Very well preserved! Finest and boldest Thomas Jefferson signature I have ever seen. I have had several experts look at it for "opinions". They all agree it is the finest and rarest Jefferson Free Frank they have ever seen. It also appears it was probably filled out completely in his hand. The characteristics of letters match other examples of his handwriting. Exceptional!!!  It is currently framed in a large Jefferson collage that is too large and delicate for me to ship it safely. I will have my framer remove the Free Frank for safe shipping unless the buyer wants to pick it up here in Indianapolis or arrange for the oversized item to be shipped AT YOUR EXPENSE. If you want the framed item shipped I suggest you have my framer remove the glass and replaced by your framer after it arrives. Framing alone was almost $500. Overall size of the archival museum framing is 27x43. It includes 2 sterling silver Franklin Mint commemorative plates and a nice commemorative Jefferson "quote" porcelain plate. Also included is a parchment copy of the Declaration of Independence. Framing not included unless picked up here in Indianapolis. Very difficult to put a price on such a fantastic item!
