There would have been acarved piece at the top that is nowmissing. This clock booked for $12,000in 2004. The 2004 price guide is $12000 I have added pictures of the top, side and bottom of the case. The carved pieces on the sides are attached to wood blocks and then attached to the case. The top piece would have been done the same. There may have been a piece attached to the bottom of the case also. The clock measures 33" tall with a 9" time dial and a 13" calendar dial.
