Description
 Very Fine early American Artillery or Infantry Officer's Eagle-head saber with a very scarce pattern hilt which retains most of its beautiful rich gilding with some wear, awesome wide knuckle-guard with ten stars over the beautiful American eagle, lovely bone or i--ry grip  with absolutely no damage, the grip is tight on the tang the guard and lovely eagle-head pommel are slightly loose. Sword is wearing a beautiful quality blade in Original untouched condition, retaining most of its bright bluing with awesome gilded engravings on both sides, marking "G" on ricasso and a "LL" on the spine may lead to the American or European maker of this Stunning Example. Original scabbard with gilded and fancy chiseled brass mounts, the frog stud was replaced with a round copper washer, small break to leather on one side near the drag mount, could be fixed, otherwise the sword is in very good Original condition for the 2 centuries of age. Quite a Rare variation of these ornate officer's weapons. Overall in scabbard 37 1/4". Blade  30 3/4".
