We have left out some of the letters in the name of the bank as per eBay rules. The exact name of the bank can be seen on the back of the bank as well as on the box in the pictures. The bank is made of heavy diecast metal which feels like the approximate weight of iron when the bank is picked up. The base plate of the bank is a sheet of steel w/the bright original screws still present. The bank is approximately 6 1/2" tall by 5" wide by 5 1/2" deep.It is obvious that this bank has never been played with or used in any way. The bank is bright & fresh beyond any normal sense of expectation for any old mechanical bank. The condition is truly breathtaking! The bank has the following wording on the original box : "Greedy N***** Boy Money Box Every Child Loves The N***** Compels Saving By Swallowing The Money" & "Manufactured by H.C. Urlwin Ltd. Ch. Ch." This bank was made in Christ Church, New Zealand. I am not sure of the precise date of manufacture. But, I think that it is circa 1930's or so.This is definitely one of the cleanest condition original old mechanical banks of any type in existence! The all original paint is rich, thick, astonishingly bright, & unoxidized! The all original paint is 99.99% present. If you look close & carefully you will find a few minute specks off the paint. But, I think that a realistic assessment of 99.99% is reasonable. In over forty years of buying old mechanical banks this is the best condition original old mechanical bank that I have ever owned! It is actually the best condition old mechanical bank that I have ever seen offered for sale! This bank is in truly astonishing condition! The paint is all original in all respects! There is no touch up. There is no repaint. The bank is original in all ways. There are no repairs & no replaced parts. Included with the bank is its original colorful box.The box is made of cardboard with a color label that wraps around the entire box. There is some age browning & slight wear & a little chipping & minor scuffing to the box & label. The lid is held on with a piece of paper tape. It appears that this tape is original as issued. Originally the tape went down on both sides of the box & the tape on one side of the box was removed to take the bank out of the box.This amazingly wonderful condition mechanical bank was originally found by an American mechanical bank collector approximately 30-35 years ago on a trip to New Zealand. He found it where it had sat undisturbed for many years in a storage room of an old store in New Zealand. This was a store that had originally sold these banks when they were new. I acquired the bank from the liquidation of the collector's estate approximately 15-20 years ago. It has been in my collection ever since. It is an extremely rare occurance to find any old mechanical bank in condition this intensely wonderful!
