Description
Original Organ Grinder and Dancing Bear cast iron clockwork mechanical bank. The bank was patented June 13, 1882. Underneath the bank is the following wording "Pat June 13 82". The bank was manufactured by the Kyser & Rex Company which was located in Frankford, Pa.The bank has outstanding, very bright, & rich all original paint. There is a little wear to the paint here & there. But, this example really has wonderful all original paint. It would be very hard to upgrade this example paintwise. The bank does have a 2 1/4" long crack that bisects the center of the fence. Also, there is a 4" crack that bisects the center of the roof with a 1" crack connecting to it. The bank is exactly like we found it. We are guessing that the bank must have been dropped at some point. We have checked & are able to verify that the fence is functioning as one piece by moving it slightly while touching one of the boy's heads that are on the fence. The fence moves as if it is one piece. As this crack bisects the entire width of the center of the fence we are wondering if some former owner may have put a tiny speck of epoxy at the center of the fence break. But, in trying to answer this question one way or another we have looked at the fence for over two hours & cannot see any sign whatsoever at the visible junction of the crack of this being done. But, the possibility still exists as, of course, the inside of the fence is not visible. All of the components to the bank are all original in all ways. The only defects to the bank are the cracks that we have mentioned. There are no other defects. The precise condition of the bank is clearly shown in the pics. The bank measures approximately 7" long by 5 1/4" tall by 4 3/4" wide. In over 42 years of buying mechanical banks this is the most beautiful example of an Organ Grinder Dancing Bear that we have ever had the pleasure of owning. We guarantee this item to be original as described & we offer a full & prompt refund if you are not satisfied & if the item is returned in the same condition within 3 days of receipt. If you have any additional questions please email us at imajgin@aol.com.Buyer pays $50.00 for U.S. mail registered insured. PA residents add 6% sales tax or provide a valid resale number.
