This pair was made in 1960 a limited edition of only 250 pieces. The issue was closed in 1966. This pair are from an estate containing a collection of rare and superb quality Boehm porcelian birds. The estate was appraised by expert Boehm porcelain appraisers referred by Boehm International. This is their findings: By 1984 there were 13 auction appearances. The average auction price up to 1984 was $3,860. The agent's average appraisal price was $4,950. We are offering this rare beautiful pair at half the price they were appraised at 25 years ago. The offering of pieces from this collection represent a wonderful opportunity for Boehm collectors to acquire rare, limited edition, closed issue pieces at very realistic prices. The Grouse are in excellent condition. One measures 11 inches high, 11 inches wide by 10-1/4 inches deep. The other one measures 11-1/2 inches high, 11-1/2 inches wide, 8 inches deep. These are pictured on Page 112 RPC-1049-01 in The Porcelain Art of Edward Marshall Boehm by Reese Palley.
