Description
MEASUREMENTS: the tables adjust to 40 inches high from the low table height of 26 inches. The upper platter is 20 x 16.5 inches and the smaller 10.5 x 10.5 inches.MATERIAL: walnut, steel.Table one (pics 1(the one on the left),2,3,4,5,6) Table two (pics 1(the one on the right),7,9,10,11)CONDITION: very good, only very slight traces of normal usage, second table (pics 7-11) slight patina on the chrome leg (pic 10)The two tables show slight interesting variations in details or measurements. for example one of the platters can be removed and used as a tray. Probably one of the most interesting and multi-functional tables designed during this pre-war period. The table is completely adjustable: the top solid wood platter rotates and tilts. The height is also adjustable. The piece was designed in 1936 and produced by Embru Werke, the producer responsible for Marcel Breuer 's aluminum collection and Alvar Aaltos famous plywood furniture at this time (and many other classics). These tables were sold at Wohnbedarf, the famous distributer of German Bauhaus and initiator of modern classic design movement in Switzerland. Many Wohnbedarf furniture of this time have become museum pieces, last but not least because of the most known architects of their time. Marcel Breuer, Aalvar Aalto, Max Bill, Hans Bellmann etc. Please email any question.Thank you for watching this item.Money bank transfer possible.
