Description 1940's SCHAEFER BEER LIGHTED CASH REGISTER ADVERTISING SIGN !!! Extremely rare lighted cash register sign ~ 1/4" thick reverse painted glass with tin backing and polished aluminum base....the glass actually is ground on the backside (recessed by about 1/32") and then the paint is applied in the depression ~ Manufactured by the Price Brothers for the Schaefer Brewing Company ~ Measures 13" wide x 9" tall, not including the clamps which would attach to the register top ~ The light illuminates from 2 small bulbs in the base thru the edge of the reverse painted glass making for a very sharp site when turned on (almost looks like a neon lamp) as some of the pics reflect ~ All original and in excellent condition as shown....does have some wear on the corners of the glass where it sits in the base ~ For you serious Schaefer collectors this would make a sharp addition to your collection few will duplicate !!!
